Just found this whole article about Taurus...my Zodiac sign. Lots of stuff in here is very, very true. Check it out:

The Unflappable Taureans:
They have a temperament befitting the sages. Hurl at them the cruelest of insults. Abuse and deride them at will. Taureans will remain unmoved. They have the dignity of an awe-inspiring mountain. And they face these barrages with incredible composure. They have the detachment of saints. But saints, especially of the Taurus kind, have their limits. Provoke them beyond a point and the change would be too hot to handle. Beastly fury will unleash. And like the rampaging bull in the China shop, it will be destruction pure and complete. And Taurus, incidentally, is symbolised by the bull. Dependable and strong.
The planet Venus has complete sway over the Taureans. So it is not surprising that they are obsessed with beauty and luxury. It is because of this fixation they are said to have oodles of creative talent. Some of the world's finest creative talents, including William Shakespeare, and celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar, are from this part of the zodiac.
For them family comes first. Their children will feel loved as the Taurean parent is attentive, tender and affectionate. Their partner would feel secure as a Taurean strongly believes in fidelity and stable relationships. And what's more, the Taurean is a reservoir of undying love.
But what most intrigues others is the Taurean's trademark stubborness. This attribute, unfortunately, got stuck because of the Taurean's private nature. They are more of listeners than talkers. Just give them a little time and the perception will change. And, inspite of being romantics at heart, they are less expressive. They do their job without much fuss but with an efficiency that is deadly.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
The Holy Bible: "And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the Chicken, 'Thou shalt cross the road!' And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing."

Another trip to UCLA today!!
This time I went to have a look at some different off-campus housing options. Why? Well, the cost of living in this University Co-operative Housing, that I was told about, is much less as compared to even living in the Residential Halls on campus. I wasn't too sure why, so I decided to go check the place out for myself.

So it's like this: you pay per quarter (rather than for a full year)...which means you can move out of one room and move into another every quarter if you want to. The way they're able to get the cost so low is that they ask you to do 4 hour work shifts per week, which isn't really that bad. And if you're really busy a particular week, you can postpone your work shift...which makes it pretty flexible too. Another great thing was that the rooms seemed quite a bit larger than the UCLA dorm rooms. Even though I'm going to have to stay in a 3-person room for the first quarter, I can move up to a 2-person room in 2nd quarter itself, and then eventually to a 1-person room too. Sweet! The room rates include a meal plan too ... they have their own dining hall, and some other facilities like a computer lab (that I won't really need), a TV lounge, and what-not. And finally, it's one of the closest residential buildings to the CS building at UCLA...so I can walk up everyday in literally 10 minutes. Awesome.

All-in-all, it seems to be a nice place, and I'll end up saving a ton of money too, which is always good, considering I don't get any freaking financial aid or scholarships for not being a citizen/permanent resident of the U.S...

The concept of the weblog originated a few years ago, but it seems to be gaining popularity only now.

So anyway, I've finally decided to jump in, and I hope to update this page semi-regularly...let's see how that goes. ;)
